青年古筝演奏家孙卓自幼随母亲（著名古筝演奏家，秦筝流派代表人物，被誉为国手演奏家）曲云学习古筝。
1988年考入西安音乐学院附中。在校六年期间囊括了全部学校专业比赛的一等奖。
1989年在北京获ART杯中国器乐国际比赛少年专业组三等奖。十三岁作为西安音乐学院唯一专业代表参加全国音乐院校交流音乐会演出。
1994年以优异的成绩考入中央音乐学院。
1997年获全国古筝比赛青年专业组一等奖。同年获中央音乐学院最高等级专业奖学金“傅成贤”奖学金。
1998年获学士学位，同时考入中央音乐学院研究生院
1998年11月于中央音乐学院成功举办个人独奏音乐会
2000年获得“千禧年古筝国际比赛”专业组第三名（2000.8 台北）
2001年5月于北京音乐厅成功地举办个人独奏音乐会，被评论家誉为“才华横溢的青年演奏家”
2001年7月获得硕士学位
2001年获“龙音杯”中国古筝比赛专业组优胜奖。 （2001 .10 北京）
曾多次在北京，南京，长沙，重庆及港澳台等地举办个人独奏音乐会并获得极大的成功。
曾应邀在香港演艺学院，西安音乐学院，四川音乐学院，重庆艺术学院，安徽师范学院等地举办专题讲座及演奏会。连续三年应邀在北京民族文化交流中心举办大师班古筝讲座。并录制有CD《乡韵》，《华丽》，《中国古筝名曲》。DVD《中国古筝名家名目》，《中国古筝名曲欣赏》，《中国古筝考级曲》。
2004年赴伦敦学习，目前就读于伦敦大学亚非研究所音乐系攻读博士学位兼教授中国筝演奏课。她始终把宣传，弘扬中国文化视为重任。多次在大学，博物馆，社区中心，及中小学举办中国音乐讲座向不同的人群宣传中国音乐。曾在多所城市的市政厅，音乐厅，伦敦大学音乐厅，设菲尔德大学，伦敦亚洲中心，皇家艺术学院，伦敦皇家音乐学院，英国外交部，伦敦中大使馆音乐厅，爱丁堡国际艺术节等举办音乐会及个人独奏音乐会。
舞台表演与理论研究相结合，与她的博士论文相关的中国传统乐器-筝在当代前沿音乐创作中的运用，中国传统音乐在当代的发展是她目前所关注和实践的重点。
她所演奏的曲目范围十分广泛，除了传统流派乐曲，与当代杰出华人作曲家的联系与合作，使一批优秀的当代筝乐作品在国际的舞台上得以展现，反映了二十世纪初以来筝从音乐创作到演奏技法的发展历程，尤其取得了国内外音乐学界及演奏家们的高度关注。如她近期独奏音乐会上所演奏的《二重奏-筝与小提琴》，《洄》（陈晓勇-旅德著名作曲家，汉堡大学作曲教授），《林泉》（叶小刚-中央音乐学院作曲教授），《不见园》（梁雷-哈佛大学作曲博士）。这些作品突出的反映了当代的华人作曲家对于中国传统文化精神和音乐的深沉理解和如何使用筝作为媒介来实践和表现这种理解。
演奏这些乐曲需要面临许多新的尝试和挑战。如《二重奏-筝与小提琴》的微分音音阶订弦，《不见园》中对于演奏家即兴发挥的要求，《洄》的中段需要演奏家用抽象的方法诗朗诵等。通过大强度的练习，和作曲家的沟通，在不影响博士论文写作的情况下她在三个月之内完成了这批新作品从视奏到成熟的音乐会演奏曲目的过程。
音乐会引起了热烈的反响。许多观众表示被筝在传统与现代作品中所表达出的巨大的变化张力所震撼，作曲家和演奏家以现代音乐语汇真诚直接的表达阐释传统，令人感动。许多著名音乐学者向孙卓表示对于当代中国音乐有了新的认识。
近期的音乐会计划还包括：2006 年10月与琵琶大师刘德海，古筝大师曲云的联袂音乐会2006年10月25日西班牙wormax 国际音乐界音乐会，2006年11月伦敦音乐会。
Sun Zhuo's CV in English
Su zhuo, one of the top Chinese Zheng zitherist of the young generation was born in Xi’an China, started to learn to play zheng since her childhood from her mother Qu Yun, one of famous representatives and successor of Qin zheng (a regional school of Chinese Zheng) and well-known zitherist with deep understanding of the core and essence the Qin zheng。
In 1988, she was admitted to the affiliated Middle School of Xi’na Conservatory learning from the young zitherist Yin Qun. She showed her talent since in the middle school and won the first prize of folk music for three times consecutively (the award is granted every other years.) In 1989, she won the third prize of the Juvenile Group of the international Competition of Chinese Musical Instruments.
In 1994 she was admitted to the National Music Department of the Central Conservatory in Beijing, majoring in zheng, supervised by the famous zither educationalist Professor Li Meng.
in 1997, she won the first prise in the Youth Group of the National zheng Invitation Contest and the Fucheng xian scholarship from the Central Conservatory.
in 1998,with her mother, she held her first solo concert in Hong Kong, which turned out to be a big success. In December 1998, she held another successful solo concert in Central Conservatory.
In July 2000, she won the third prize in the Millennium zheng Contest held in Taiwan.
In May 2001, her solo concert in Beijing Concert Hall was a big hit with huge acclamation. She was recognized as “the great talented young zitherist” and “the new generation Qin zitherist” on the cover page of the Music Life and the Music Weekly. In July 2001, she was granted the master degree of arts after successful graduated debates on her dissertation “On the History and Revitalization of The Qin Zheng”.
In 2003, together with her mother Qu Yun, she held the “Quyun,Sunzhuo solo Concert” in Tianhan Theater of Changsha successfully.
Her solo performance was showed on Chinese Central Television Music Channel and International Channel.
She has published series of CD and VCD albums.
